THE LITTLE STORY

It was in 1977 that Pierre Passemard founded the equestrian endurance race Les Deux Jours de Montcuq, which would become over the decades a great classic of the specialty. Les Deux Jours de Montcuq is one of the most famous endurance races in the world, along with the Tevis Cup in California and the Tom Quilty Gold Cup in Australia. If it has become over the years a great classic and the unmissable meeting of the world's elite, it is because it has managed to maintain the course for more than 40 years: same course, with a few changes, and above all the same spirit: competition and horse performance combined with the discovery of wide open spaces. The greatest endurance specialists are at the start of these 2x100 km, European champions, French champions and other foreign champions. Without forgetting the stars of this meeting; The purebred horses, trained like great athletes, are the admiration and coveted by many international spectators who also come to spot the rare pearl of this endurance sport. Many horse breeders meet potential owners while admiring this incredible race.

EQUESTRIAN ENDURANCE

Endurance is a long-distance race practiced on horseback and in the great outdoors, the objective of which is to cover a long distance: from 20 km to 160 km in one day, or 2 x 100 km over two days. This timed race must be completed as quickly as possible while maintaining a mount in perfect health. Mandatory veterinary checks are carried out regularly throughout the course. They guarantee the good health of the horse, because in case of doubt (fatigue, lameness, dehydration, etc.) it is disqualified. Throughout the event, the animal's effort must therefore be controlled. Equestrian endurance is one of the seven world equestrian disciplines approved by the International Equestrian Federation and is therefore present at the World Equestrian Games. There are several types of endurance events, which are differentiated by the number of kilometers covered. The practice of the discipline is accessible to all riders and all types of horses.
